Recently, Audiio announced LinkMatch 2.0, a major upgrade to its AI-powered music search tool designed for filmmakers and content creators. The new version features a radically simplified interface that consolidates all search functions into a single tab, allowing users to search by keywords, filters, or links directly from the main browse page. The refined AI model delivers smarter, higher-quality results by factoring in trending, popular, and new tracks, while a new Precision Section Search feature lets users isolate specific parts of a reference song (intro, chorus, or custom sections) to find matches based on exact tone, pacing, and emotion.
Audiio has been a well-established supplier of royalty-free licensed music, and I do like searching their library looking for “good fit” music when editing one of our reviews. After all, music plays an enormous part in creating engaging content, be it a documentary film, commercial, or narrative. If you are a “one-man-band” creator who is also editing his/her own videos, or a production house that uses licensed music to satisfy the needs of your demanding clients, you might be familiar with the following scenarios. One: You have a certain famous song in mind, one that you wish you could use to enhance your creative work, but licensing it is completely out of the question, as it is beyond any reasonable cost. Two: You have something in mind, but you are not completely locked into the outcome and wish you could find and hear different versions of what you think might suit your video.
This is why, when I came across LinkMatch 2.0, I was pleasantly surprised by how well it works in finding good matches to what I was looking for, but more importantly, how simple it is to use…
Call me “ordinary”, but one of my favorite bands is Coldplay. One of their relatively unknown songs that I particularly like is “Coloratura”. This epic “Pink Floyd style” masterpiece has been on my radar for a very long time, but in all honesty, searching for something similar looked like an unachievable task. So when Audiio released its new LinkMatch 2.0 feature, I was curious to see how well it could find a track to match my edit. I knew it wouldn’t recreate the original song exactly, but if it could come close enough to capture the same feeling, that was reason enough to give this AI-powered tool a try.
LinkMatch 2.0 came up with 14 results that might just satisfy my artistic needs. Many of them were really fine, but one in particular captured my attention, Glimmers by NOVAYR. One feature that I’ve learned to appreciate is the ability to isolate instruments. One can, of course, “mix them all” (as I often do)
The results were rather convincing, so I had to try it again, and this time I added a link to Queen’s Bohemian Rhapsody, which is rather challenging since it has a very unique structure. Indeed, LinkMatch 2.0 generated 22 music themes/songs, but had some difficulty finding something that would have reminded me of the original Queen song.
For my last test, I was looking for a song that is being sung in a few languages, and for that, I chose an amazing ballad called “New Day Will Rise.” It was performed in English, French, and Hebrew by Yuval Rafael at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest.
I was astonished to see the results I got this time. LinkMatch found 21 songs, and some of them were very close orientation-wise. Take this one, for example, from Simon (only Human). Or, take the one from Luray (on Fire) as a reference. And again, it is worth mentioning that any of these matching songs can be downloaded without vocals, so instrumental only.
Audiio’s LinkMatch 2.0 is a useful tool that lets you search for music similar to the songs you want to use, even if those songs are restricted. Personally, I find it enjoyable and easy to experiment with, and in most cases, the results are impressive. But no less important, as long as you know what you are looking for, this tool saves A LOT of time. Additionally, the ability to highlight specific segments within a song and identify similarities is a very welcome feature. Last but not least, after conducting a search, the program shows exactly which parts of each result are similar to the song you were searching for. So, it’s a thumbs up from me, and I encourage you, fellow filmmakers, to give it a try!
Currently, the LinkMatch 2.0 option is included in the “Pro” and “Enterprise” subscription offers. As a CineD reader, you get 70% off your first year of Audiio Pro, which gives you unlimited LinkMatch access: Just use the Code CineD70 at checkout!
