Portkeys is running a holiday sale with discounts of up to 20% on its lineup of on-camera monitors, including the LS7P, LH5C, and BM5 IV WR. The promotion runs through December 25th, offering filmmakers a chance to pick up camera control monitors at reduced prices.
The Chinese manufacturer Portkeys has built a reputation for delivering feature-rich monitoring solutions at competitive price points. From budget-friendly options like the HD7H to professional flagship models, Portkeys monitors have found their way onto productions ranging from indie films to commercial shoots. If you’re looking to add a (new) on-camera monitor, then this holiday sale might be worth checking out. It covers several of the company’s most popular models, each offering a distinct combination of size, brightness, and control capabilities.
The Portkeys LS7P is a 7-inch monitor featuring a 1000-nit, 10-bit display with 1920×1080 resolution. It runs on MOVNORM OS and offers wireless camera control for models from ARRI, RED, Canon, Sony, Nikon, Panasonic, and Blackmagic Design. One of its standout features is the one-to-many control system, which allows a single LS7P to wirelessly control up to four additional Portkeys monitors at distances up to 50m (164 feet). The monitor supports both HDMI and SDI inputs/outputs with cross-conversion, and includes a rotatable dummy NP-F plate that provides 8V/10W passthrough power for accessories, such as wireless video receivers. You can purchase it now for $404 (regular $449).
For filmmakers seeking a more compact solution, the Portkeys LH5C offers a 5.4-inch touchscreen with 800-nit brightness and wired camera control capabilities. Weighing only 162 grams (5.71oz), the monitor supports cameras from Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Z CAM, and Blackmagic Design, with touch focus functionality available on select models, including the Sony FX3/FX30/FX6, and Canon EOS C80/C400. The LH5C runs on MOVNORM OS and accepts up to 20 custom 3D LUTs. Its low power draw of 7.5W means that a Sony NP-F550 battery can provide approximately three hours of runtime. Purchase it now for $189.05 (regular $199).
The Portkeys BM5 IV WR represents the company’s flagship 5.5-inch offering, featuring a 2000-nit display housed in a rugged aluminum body. What distinguishes the WR model from the standard BM5 IV is its built-in antenna for wireless camera control, supporting cameras like the RED KOMODO, KOMODO-X, V-RAPTOR, ARRI Alexa Mini, and Nikon Z 8/Z 9. The monitor runs on CINENORM OS, Portkeys’ redesigned page-based operating system that allows users to create up to seven custom pages with different monitoring and assist tools. Connectivity includes both 3G-SDI and HDMI in/out with cross-conversion, supporting up to 1080p60 over SDI and 4K DCI 60p over HDMI. Get the BM5 IV WR for $711.55 (regular $749).
